Thousands of employees each year are being paid for hours they haven't worked, costing companies millions of pounds. Many people see a time and attendance system as the resource to stop this, although some employees have come up with ways to try and cheat the system by "buddy clocking".

Buddy clocking is the practice of one employee clocking in or out for another employee. This will result in the employee who is absent being paid for hours that have not been worked. Not only is this costing the employer money but it can also decrease morale for the majority of honest staff who become frustrated that they work a full day while others may not.
